UK Minister for Culture to Convene Meeting on Maccabi Tel Aviv Fan Ban
The police and crime commissioner from the West Midlands has called for an immediate reexamination of the ruling to ban Maccabi Tel Aviv's fans from being present at the forthcoming game.
The commissioner, who supervises the force, explains that this request aims to verify whether the prohibition is appropriate, essential, justified, reasonable, and a proportionate step to accomplish a legitimate aim.
"That must include evaluation of all and any appropriate, alternative options," the official emphasizes.
He has additionally asked to examine the written decision and recommendation from the safety committee, along with the law enforcement evaluation.
He underscores, however, that the final decision rests with the committee and the authorities.
